Internationally known artist, Brooklyn Hill is a self taught oil painter & color pencil artist based out of Saskatchewan Canada. Brooklyn grew up with a love and a passion for art, never really thinking she could make art her career until a few years after graduating. At the age of 20 she picked up color pencils before slowly transitioning into teaching her self how to paint at the age of 23. With the help of several posts going viral on social media, Brooklyn has gained international recognition for her hyper realistic drawings & paintings and has been fortunate to sell her artwork to collectors worldwide.
Brooklyn has experimented in a variety of styles & subjects but always came back to hyper realism, her work is pushing the limits and creating balance between contrast, highlights and shadows. Attempting to create a painting that extends beyond what a photograph can ever capture. “I always say my favorite part of painting is capturing the eyes, you can tell a lot about a person or an animal through the eyes. The eyes are the gateway to the soul.”
Recently Brooklyn Hill has been working on larger canvases reflecting on capturing the movement of the animal. Capturing them in a moment of time, giving the viewer the view of as if they were looking through the lens of a camera.
