Success! Alive on Canvas Solo show!

My first solo show was a huge success! During the show I had the chance to see some new & familiar faces that came out to the show. During the show I had the chance to say goodbye to two original paintings. “On the go” as well as “Blue”

Prints were sold, I will be having to restock due to selling out on a few of the editions!

Thanks to everyone who came out, and supported! Just coming out was great!

The first step is to choose your photos. This is the most important part in the commission process. Rule of thumb is “the better the photo, the better the portrait”

A couple things to keep in mind when selecting a photo for a portrait is Quality, Lighting, Turning Flash off, levels and Camera.

Quality- The very first thing i’m going to look for in a photograph is the quality, the clearer and more detail in a photo the better your portrait will be. Noses and eyes are important key features that are highly important that in the photo they are sharp and in focus. I won’t be able to work from blurry photos

Lighting- When taking that perfect photo of your pet natural light, preferably outdoors is best.

Turning Flash off- If possible please avoid using flash, it can cause problems, take away detail in the photo, red-eye or eye glowing affect.

Levels- Best angles are at eye level with your pet. Looking down on your pet can look unflattering and unnatural to the eye.

Cameras- If possible, use a proper photo camera or have a photographer come take photographs of your pet. These can result in sharper, detailed and better lit photos. While phone cameras can tend to be less detailed and a litter darker. However i would be more than happy to use photos from a phone as long as they are clear and readable.

If you have multiple pets, you don’t need one photo. I can take multiple photos and put them together, just as long as the photo is readable and i have at least one photo to have in comparison for size..
